Why does my site need to be ADA compliant?

The ADA is one of the most important – and complicated – pieces of accessibility legislation.

Title III of the ADA is commonly interpreted by US courts to include websites as “places of public accommodation”.  For your website to be ADA compliant, it must be accessible. US Courts and the Department of Justice continually reference the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 (Level AA) as the standard for website accessibility – and therefore ADA compliance. This is the standard the Siteimprove Accessibility Checker tests for.
